Attendance Is Mandatory: Collecting and Dissecting Ethnographic Research Through the Eyes of College Students

Objective

The objective of this project was to study our lives in this present moment. Asking questions like what is truly important to you? What are consistant themes(or people/things/ideas) coming up in your day to day lives? How would you showcase your life through photos and artifacts to someone who doesnt know you?

Approach

This project began with research- asking people all over the US and the world to get a disposable camera, photograph of their life for a week, and collect artifacts that they interacted with on a daily basis and mail them to me in New York.

Outcome

After receiving all of the arifacts, organizing them, and scanning them we came to the conclusion that, when given the freedom to describe themselves in the way they choose people will share the people that they care about, their experiences, and the things that bring them joy.
