Summer2009 is a hanging installation piece that the viewer interacts with by looking around, under, and inside. This piece interacts with the concept of escape, the feeling of nostalgia, and the idea of creating worlds. I believe so often we are stuck in the spiral of the horrible things happening around us. Moment after moment that will go down in history, but we are given no moments to breathe let alone feel and experience the world around us. I want to understand how our senses play into creating worlds and how beautiful things can transport us and give us an avenue out, to teach us to view the world in an explorative, curious way.
